If you are a regular visitor to my blog, you know that I am a blog hopping fool! I love reading what other people are doing, what they are learning and what they are sharing. And of course I am sure to leave a comment.
So while I was blog hopping yesterday, I stopped by Ileane Smith’s blog, “Basic Blog Tips“. The post that caught my eye was titled “Finding The Best Social Media Apps to Boost Your Brand“. If you haven’t stopped by her blog yet, you really need to put that one on your list to visit.
The first thing she mentioned was a Twitter App called “Timely“. Now don’t shoot me, but I’m one of those that schedules my tweets only because I am a very busy lady and I only am able to put aside a small window of time to actually get on Twitter.
When I visit a blog and really like the post, I will re-tweet it. Sometimes I do it right then and sometimes I save it till later. Of course I always tweet my own blog posts and articles as well.
I currently use a couple of services to schedule my tweets but what I found interesting about Ileane’s tip is that with Timely, they will tell you when the best time is to tweet.
All you do is:
- Add your tweets to Timely
- They will publish them when they’ll have the highest impact
- You’ll get more retweets, mentions and followers
This service will analyze your last 199 tweets and figure out the best time slots. They then use that information to auto-schedule your tweets.
This is a free service with an option to upgrade. You can check out the services yourself but with the pro version they will track your results so you can see the number of clicks and retweets for each one of your tweets, they will post to Facebook and LinkedIn and you’ll have unlimited RSS feeds as well. The pro version is less than $10 a month so that’s really not too shabby.
Anyway, here is a big shout out to Ileane for sharing this information and be sure to stop by her blog and read what else she shared in this particular post. I was so excited about this little gem that I wanted to be sure and share it with you.
As always, thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to leave me a comment. If you have some cool Twitter apps you’ve been using, be sure and share it with us. I KNOW there are still plenty of them out there that I have still not heard about.

Hi Adrienne, we “Smiths” have to stick together. Thanks so much for the nice shout out and I’m glad you’re enjoying Timely and spreading the word about it. Every little bit helps and if Timely can help me spread out my tweets throughout the day that is one less decision my brain needs to process. I might look into the pro options and do the same thing with Facebook. Thanks again Ms. Smith

Well hey there Miss Smith!!!
Yep, anything I can do to help spread the love, I’m in… I just thought it was such a cool app and wanted to share that with my readers as well. So glad I visited your blog yesterday and learned this from you. I’m off and running today.

Lol, love the Smiths reference
I learned about this one from Ileane as well, and still trying to make time to put it to work. Well, I will do it NOW cause I plan to hop a blog or two
I tried it the other day for a few minutes but forgot about it
Definitely need reminders like these to push me forward. Oh, let me time this post and see how it works

We Smith’s need to stick together! LOL!!!
Ileane is a sharing fool isn’t she! I loved her post and jumped right on it. Like you, I have to remind myself now since I usually schedule them all ahead of time. Scheduled some this morning but got a message that I need to schedule more. Wow, that was fast. I’m just not use to this…
Glad this was a reminder Brankica and always appreciate the retweets. Go get um girl!

Adrienne, I am a regular visitor over at Basic Blog Tips and you are right, Ileane´s blog should definitely be in a bloggers list of blogs to visit.
Now about the app – I have frequently used quite a few twitter apps. Timely seems like something that I need to look into; especially the free version.
Thanks for sharing.
You have a great day!

Hey Adam,
Thanks for stopping by. I found Ileane’s blog through Brankica’s blog list she recently posted. She, Elisa and I were on a mission to comment on as many as possible within a 3 day period. To say the least, I wasn’t able to finish but am still visiting the rest. Thought Ileane had a great blog with so much awesome information. I love it when I learn something new or come across a service I haven’t heard about before. Do you have any favorite apps you would like to share? I’m always up for hearing about apps that will improve our Twitter experience.
Thanks again Adam and have a great day!

I’m still trying to decide which Twitter tool I should use. Both are handy and both are effective. Tweet Spinner is a little less expense and Social Oomp has more features, but Twitter doesn’t seem to deliver the ROI that I get from Facebook. Still, its posts like this that keep me in the Twitter hunt month after month.

Hey Neil,
I know what you mean… If I had to pick a favorite, Twitter wouldn’t make it because I enjoy the interaction I have with others and you just can’t do that with 140 characters. I know the soul purpose is to get them to your blog but that’s easier said than done… But when I do find really cool apps that help with this process, it does make it much easier.
Hope you make a decision on which one suits your needs best. There are so many out there that do a great job.
Adrienne
Timely can be very important since the twit time may determine whether our twits reach maximum people.

I totally agree Dana! It’s very important that your followers actually see your tweets and pay attention to them.
