How to Create a PDF

If you want to provide useful and helpful information to your readers, one of the best ways to accomplish this is by providing free reports or ebooks. You want to be able to make your information available to as many people as possible. For that reason, most authors use the PDF format.

PDF stands for Portable Document Format. This format was created by a company called Adobe Systems to allow people to share their files no matter what kind of software they have, or even what kind of computer they have.

To read PDF files, you just need a free tool called Adobe Acrobat Reader, which you can download from adobe.com.

Adobe also provides the software to create PDF’s but it’s not a free program and it continues to rise in price each and every year.

In this video I will share with you two different ways you can to create your PDFs for free.

So I’m happily sitting around the office minding my own business dreaming of the offers that are sure to roll in for my upcoming launch; when I get a call from a client who wants a PDF of my Blog. “Hey, no problem, (Ha, I’m ahead of this curve Adrienne) I’ll E-Mail that puppy right over” I said.

I get a call about 20 minutes later for this guy who says “No that’s not what I want, I want a PDF of your Blog not your Posts”. “Excuse Me?” I said.

He tells me that he wanted to share this particular site design and it’s layout with content to a number of sources who do not have Internet Access. He told me that the PDF format is pretty wide spread and can be burned easily on a CD that he can pass out for later viewing.

What ??? Oh man!!! A PDF of my Blog ……. I kid you not.

As I started down the yellow brick road to find the wizard of Google, I had no idea how in the world I was going to do this. To convert any Blog to a PDF is “ENORMOUSLY COMPLEX”. But I’ll have to admit this guy got my dander up.

After looking at more unbelievable complex options than any self-respecting computer programmer should have up his sleeve here’s how I did it.

I called the Blog from Google Chrome and used “Awesome Screenshot: Capture & Annotate” and clicked on “Capture Entire Page” for each of my Blogs pages.
Then I took each page and pasted into “Open Office Presentations”. Once finished I clicked on “File” > “Print” > “Print to File” > “Output format” > “PDF” > Name Document > “Print”.

How cool is that ? It looked Killer!!!

I got a call from my client about two days later ….. He Said “Thanks, I really appreciate that ……… hey, …….. how’d you do that ?”

I would have freaked out too Jeffrey! A PDF of your entire blog! The screenshots of each page were enough! They weren’t too small to review? That’s great since the client was obviously very pleased. I actually like Open Office sometimes better than Word because 1) you can save directly as a PDF and 2) all the imagines come through clear. I’ve had problems with Word in the past.
