CommentLuv Premium, Are You On The List?

by Adrienne Smith on September 5, 2011

in Blogging

The CommentLuv Plugin
So did you get on the list?  Did you grab your spot when Andy released the news on how you could become a beta tester for CommentLuv Premium?  I know I just wrote about this last week but wanted to remind you all that time is coming to an end.

When I wrote my post “Are You A CommentLuv Fan?” I dropped the hint that Andy Bailey was going to be sharing some news the very next day about how you could get on the list and become a CommentLuv Premium Beta tester as well.  I don’t know about you but I jumped at that chance to give it a test drive.

The good news is, I was accepted so you’ve probably noticed my CommentLuv link has looked a little different these past few days.  You actually have until tomorrow, Tuesday September 6th, to sign up for a free test drive yourself.  After that you’ll have to wait like everyone else for the plug-in to be released to the blogging community.

What Do The Premium Features Have

If you don’t get in early and are able to check out this premium version yourself, you’ll have to wait like everyone else to purchase the upgrade.  Oh, and it’s of course not for sale yet since Andy’s still taking it for a test drive.  Yep, we are working out the kinks but it’s really been fun!

So what’s different with the premium version?  Well, it now has eight plug-ins included in this one.  Remember how having too many plug-ins can slow down your load time?  This will get rid of a few so you won’t have that problem.  You get:

  1. CommentLuv
  2. GASP – GrowMap Anti-Spambot Plug-in (my favorite spam protector)
  3. Twitter Link Comments – gives commenters a link to their Twitter account right next to the comment they left on your blog
  4. KeywordName (Andy’s updated version of KeywordLuv)
  5. DoFollow – you have the choice of switching to NoFollow or DoFollow
  6. TrackBack validation
  7. Top Comment Widget (recently added)
  8. No self ping (recently added)

So that is some of what CommentLuv Premium has to offer but since I just installed it this past week and have gone through the setup process myself, you know I’m no expert so I’ll let Andy explain more about how to set this fabulous plug-in up.  Just watch the video he has prepared.

Now remember, if you want to get in and still have a shot at being a beta tester for this fabulous plug-in just click on the banner below!

The CommentLuv Plugin

Did you get in?  Were you even interested in checking it out before Andy starts charging for this?  If not, why?  I mean you will be one of the first to actually share what type of improvements he’s made and chime in with your own opinions on what you think of the upgrades.  I don’t know about you but I feel like it’s a win/win situation.

I appreciate all your comments on this subject, it was a big hit in my last post.  As always, I enjoy hearing what you have to say about this.  Remember tomorrow is the deadline so jump on board now!

For all of my friends in the states, I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend and you were able to take some time off and just go have fun!

I’ll catch up with you all very soon!  :-)

If you enjoyed this post, please share it with your friends!

thanks Adrienne,

just an FYI. not everyone that applies gets to be a beta tester, only a select few will be accepted! they can try it out though on the blogs that already have it though!

I forget to mention that it also includes a top commentator widget so that makes it 7 plugins in one, looks like I’ll have to redo some videos because I’ve already changed a few things based on the feedback I’ve gotten so far.

thanks for the post about CommentLuv!

Hey Andy,

Thanks for letting us know! Oh, so I should feel REALLY special! :-) The way I see it, you won’t know till you get on the list right! I sure didn’t..

A top commenter widget too? How did I miss that? That wasn’t on the original video, you are right. Can’t wait to see how that one works because I’m really not all that pleased with the one I’m using. Can’t wait for that video.

Thanks for all you do Andy and your plug-in is a huge hit with my readers. I can only see it improving from here. Keep up the excellent work! :-)

Have a fabulous week!

Hey Eddie,

Yeah, I intend to really check it out and see what others think as well after seeing everything that it will do. Being able to share your content and tweet all in the same area is really pretty cool I think. Andy just informed me that there is also a top commenter widget too. I totally missed that one but will have to dig even more now.

Hope all is going well with you Eddie and don’t work too hard. Catch up with you soon my friend.

Thanks for stopping by my blog after finding me in the forum. I’m sure there are a lot more listed now so I’ll have to go back and check them all out as well. I also like how everything is now conveniently located in just one spot so you don’t have to hunting for the tweetme button or the FB share, etc. I like how he has that all situated now. We all just have to start getting use to it now.

Thanks again and enjoy your week. :-)

With these changes, I won’t have to look for the blogger profile. This is the feature I like most. I also like the get more luv for sharing posts. It urges readers to share your content.

At least you have the free version and we all know how well that one works.

I like to write about things that I learn so this all started because I was curious why some people just quit using this plug-in. Of course I visit ComLuv as well and found out Andy was releasing the premium beta version of this fabulous plug-in so I was able to let everyone know about this a week ago. I went for it and got on the list. So now it’s off to the races and seeing how well this little plug-in works.

I haven’t heard of any problems with the Facebook like plug-in and mine seems to be working just fine. I’m not aware of any problems so this is actually the first that I’ve heard about it Dia. Wish I could be more helpful but I’ll keep my ears open for you.

I wonder how much premium will affect the promotion of our blogs? I’m sure there are some numbers behind it, but it will be very interesting to see how much people care about getting the 10 post option. What is your take? What are you seeing so far?

Always great to stop over and say hi!

Hi Adam,

I was thrilled to be a beta tester, I so love CommentLuv..

Right now you can get the 10 post option with the free plug-in if the blog owner has it set that way. I find that beneficial for when you are commenting on someone’s post and you happen to have written a post that would help their readers. Instead of choosing your last post, you can choose that one instead if it happens to be in that list of ten.

I would say that with the continuous creation of more and more plug-ins that are making our blogging experience so wonderful and easy, having seven plug-ins all in one will really help down the road. Load time can really be slowed down when you bog your blog down with too many plug-ins. That’s one area I can see as great.

Another one is you won’t have to have as many social icons either like for Twitter and Facebook since they are both embedded in this plug-in as well for sharing your content. These are just a few I can tell from the little time I’ve had it on my blog.

We shall see what time tells Adam. Hope you receive that acceptance email soon! :-) Good luck!

CommentLuv Beta Premium sounds incredible!

I haven’t had too much experience with commentluv other than adding it into my intensedebate comment service. But I’ve growned a bit tired of that service and want to try something else. Maybe revert back to the standard comment system using gravatars + commentluv.

Anyways I’m looking out for the new commentluv and your further thoughts on it.

I’m not all that familiar with IntenseDebate but I have heard from a few people who were not very happy with that system. Personally, I just like the default commenting system along with the CommentLuv plug-in. I’m sure you’ll decide what’s best for you.

Thanks for your comment and I hope to keep everyone up to date with how this is working.

You are not mistaken and I’m halfway there. I did get my domain name. My IT guy at work keeps asking me why I want to go self-hosted until I know my direction. He says I’m getting everything done I need to ‘as is’.

The real key is ‘selling’ it to my wife what these self-hosted charges will be on the credit card. She thinks it is all frivolous and for me in it’s current incarnation I can’t argue too much. I’m getting there however, just at a turtle’s pace.

Hey Janet,

Congratulations Janet on being another beta tester. Welcome to the club! :-)

Yes, Andy forgot to mention that one in the video he had done and it wasn’t in the initial settings so he’s sent out an email letting us know about this widget which I will go and do some exploring as soon as I finish replying to my comments. I’m excited about that one too!

As I mentioned in my last post about CommentLuv, some people quit using it because they are using another commenting system that doesn’t allow this plug-in. Then when some of them have switched back, they just forgot to enable it. That’s what I learned about why they quit using it. For me, it’s a no brainer. I’m sticking with what is working just fine for me.

Thanks for your comment young lady and I hope you are enjoying your week!

P.S. How’s Brad coming with the header? Any rough drafts yet?

Hey Marianne,

Thank you, I’m pretty happy about it as well. Going to give it a good test run to see how I like it as well as my commenters. You will probably be getting a video from me in the future about this one Marianne so stay tuned for sure. :-)

I do my best to not run out and get the newest and latest plug-in just because it’s cool and convenient. I’ve been to some blogs and they take forever to load. That’s so frustrating so the fewer you have, the better you will be. So I love that Andy has combined seven into this one. That’s really going to help so I’m thrilled.

So when you put all your information in to leave a comment the Tweet button, Google + button and the Facebook button didn’t appear? When I test it using my other blog information it all appears as soon as I put that in. Will have to check that out and see why you aren’t seeing everything in the drop down. Thanks for letting me know Marianne. I have it set so you don’t have to sign up in order to have access to all those features. See, it’s still a work in progress and I’m still checking this out on how it all works.

Appreciate you letting me know Marianne and enjoy your day!

I am not a commentluv+ member but look forward to see how much you like it. I am happy with the original one for now and don’t really have time to beta test the new one. Gotta concentrate on my sites I have right now and writing content on my blog :)

Thanks for the informative post.

Hi Ashvini,

I was pretty happy about it that’s for sure. Will let everyone know as things progress but won’t bombard everyone with a CommentLuv post every week. :-)

Thanks for your input.

Hi Adrienne,

I happen to read a blog post reviewing the commentluv premium as well. And yes it really sound awesome to have the 6 plugins rolled in one. And now Andy says its actually 7. It will really save a lot of time and effort in using all of these plugins one by one. :)

Thank you Vie and I’m happy to hear that you are already aware of the upgrades to this fabulous plug-in. Andy has outdone himself so I can’t wait to see how the product will be released for everyone else to enjoy as well.

Appreciate the comment so thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.

Hey there Adrienne,

Awesome post as usual. Unfortunately for me, I spent way too much time yesterday on emails and comments on my blog. I figured I would do my site visits today and Thursday. So I just missed the deadline. Dang it! :)

Oh well, I still have the original CommentLuv that’s been working fantastically. I also have you to give your updates and feedback on the premium product. Hopefully, when I become a paid blogger I’ll be able to access this awesome plug-in then. It sounds wickedly awesome! Until then, I’ll have to live vicariously through you. :D I don’t mind it one bit either. ;)

My Labor day weekend was phenomenal, a lot of much needed rest. Thanks. I hope your holiday weekend was just as wonderful. :)

Have a fantastic day my friend.

Your friend in Atlanta,

Deeone

Hey Deeone,

I know the feeling and had I not had a regular posting schedule, I would have done this one sooner. But I did let everyone know a week ago in my other post to sign up so it was just a last minute reminder to not forget. Doors are closed now but I’m sure Andy will have some cool things going on around the release of this one.

I will keep everyone up to date as time goes by with this one that’s for sure.

Well, I got some much needed down time on Saturday whether I wanted to or not. We lost power and it was off ALL day long. No internet or cable connection until the following day too so it was pretty quiet around here. I did get some reading done though so that was nice.

Hope you are having a wonderful week. Will see you soon.

Adrienne

Hi Adrienne, I am so thrilled that you were chosen! I am even more thrilled that you were chosen than if I had been (which I was not). In addition to being thrilled for you, which I am, I am thrilled for all of use who will benefit from your having this awesome plugin. Knowing you, I anticipate a clear explanation of the many aspects of Premium CommentLuv and how to use it for the most benefit.

Congratulations! You richly deserve this! :-)

Hey Carolyn,

Why thank you for that. I appreciate you saying that. I was SO excited that Andy picked me as well. We are receiving about two to three updates a day with just tweaking certain things that need to be fixed. Testing the waters so to speak and I think it’s just so cool how he has implemented so many different plug-ins in just this one. Now I’m no pro and you guys know I’m no techie but I’ve got some other people who also made the cut that help me understand some of the ways you can set this up to benefit us. When I know more, I’ll share more. That you can count on.

I appreciate it Carolyn and we are counting the days down now girl for your award. Sure wish we could see the number of votes. I will tell you I didn’t get to vote last Saturday. No power and no internet connection for over 24 hours. That was hard. But, I’ve been voting for you 4 times each day. Keeping my fingers crossed for you! :-)

I looked at it, but never got around to signing up – just too much going on and figured I wouldn’t have been able to put it to good use, so I let it, slide I won’t be purchasing it, didn’t realize you had to buy it, oh well.

No worries here, at least I can still use the free version, which I love and think is very important for all bloggers.

Talk to ya soon!

No worries, the free one is still rockin! The premium version will just give you that much more in just one plug-in. Just as long as you have it, all should go well.

Thanks Linda!

Hey Allyson,

That’s great news, hope Andy has approved you for beta testing. It’s now a wait and see on when he’ll be releasing the premium version so that people can purchase it. Hope you get in.

Labor Day was peaceful and quiet and hope you had a good one yourself. :-)

Hey Allyson,

I saw that you write a guest post for Christian that I will head over and read here in a minute. But I also saw your photo and girl, you need to put that on your blog. You are a cutie pie and now I have a face with a name. I love that! See, we can relate more to people when we can see them so think about that okay! Now, heading over to check out your post. Congratulations on that!

Hi Adrienne,

This sounds like a great upgrade of CommentLuv. I actually wanted to get in on the Beta testing when I first read your post last week, but couldn’t figure out the correct download when I got to the site. I only got the dashboard plugin. (Didn’t see the link to the Beta test for CommentLuv way below.)

Anyway, then I wanted to get in on the $20 deal Andy had going on, but never heard back. So, …it looks like if I want this I have to wait until it’s available for everyone.

(That little black cloud is just hovering over me it seems, lol.)

Cheers anyway :)

Hey Ilka,

I had a hard time finding it too girl but actually located the link at the very top of the page and prayed it was the right one. Sure enough, got a note from Andy not long after that that I had been approved. Was just thrilled to have figured that one out.

I don’t think Andy’s made the decision about the $20 deal yet. He’s still testing the payment system before he actually decides who to give it to. So stay tuned for that. You might not be too late and I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Now, out with that black cloud stuff! We just have to look at these as lessons learned right! Everything is going to turn out better, much better! :-)

Great information as usual Adrienne…
Unfortunately I had just returned from vaca to the mountains and I just didn’t get over here in time to get in as a beta tester.

I do however appreciate your filling us in on this new version of this plug in.
I think it’s a great idea that they’ve included other plug ins…since I found out that plug-ins can slow your blog load time down I have been reluctant to add too many.

You always offer great educational info Adrienne…It’s a pleasure visiting your blog.

I look forward to hearing your reports on your Beta testing…

Hey Kathy,

Well I sure hope you had a good time in the mountains. I have no doubt you did since you took a little vacation.

Sorry you missed the beta testing. I do like that he’s included all these other plug-ins in this one. Like you said, too many can slow down your computer so this got rid of four extra ones for me. I wasn’t using the Twitterlink and I prefer the commenter widget that shows the photos and not the links. But all in all, it’s a great plug-in.

Glad you continue to learn things over there Kathy. I’ll do my best to keep that up.

Have a great day!

Adrienne

I love the commentluv+ plugin and I think it’s great that it allows people to put links to their site while still allowing them to show their real name. They get the best of both worlds and it just helps the web as a whole grow. Thanks a lot for this great write up.

Happy to hear of another CommentLuv fan. I think it’s great for giving other the recognition they deserve which is why I think it’s really important to have a blog linking to your content and not websites. It’s the interaction and building relationships that we enjoy the most. You can only accomplish this through blogs.

Hi Adrienne,

I tried to get on the list, but I guess I didn’t make it. I haven’t received an email from Any telling me that I was one of the lucky beta-testers. Too bad though. But, I will definitivaly buy the premium version (if the price is right).

I’m a huge CommentLuv fan :)

Hey Jens,

He was only taking people for a short period of time and then giving people a chance to grab it at a very low price. He’s still got a few tweaks to do to it and then the launch should be by the end of this month. I’m not sure how much it will be but I really like it. It’s so convenient and I think he’s done a great job. I’ll let you know when it will be released.

Sorry you didn’t make the list. :-(

Well done to all who managed to get ‘on the list’! I sadly have only just seen this post, so I am WAY out of time! What a great opportunity, I love commentluv and also use GASP, as so many do now. Good for you for getting in on the testing, Adrienne!

Enjoy the journey.

Hi Adrienne,
What a great plugin, isn’t it? I mean, I love cluv and I truly think it was one of the best investments I have ever made when it comes to my blog.

Andy did a fantastic job on creating this truly useful plugin. And the best part is that I don’t have to deal with akismet anymore since GASP is already integrated in cluv.

Hi Satrap,

Yes, yes and yes… I love CommentLuv and have from the beginning. Andy has just improved it now and to put all those plug-ins into one is genius. I quit using Akismet a long time ago and was already using GASP but to integrate it into CommentLuv is brilliant. I totally agree, everyone should have this plug-in that is not using another commenting system. I’m with you there.
