As I shared with everyone a few weeks ago, I attended the “More Heart Than Talent Mindset Conference” in Dallas, TX the first week of this month and it was truly amazing. I learned something new from each one of the speakers and brought away so much new knowledge with me. One of the best tips I received was from the prospecting guru himself, Todd Falcone.
Has this ever happened to you? You are on a call, a webinar or perhaps like me attending a conference hoping that you will learn something new. All of a sudden the speaker shares with you some information that makes such perfect sense that you start questioning yourself and wondering why the hell you didn’t think of that yourself. Dah.. I had that moment listening to Todd.
For those that aren’t familiar with who Todd Falcone is, he has been a very successful network marketer for over 20 years now and is an expert in prospecting. He is best known for his “Insider Secrets Home Study Course”. You can read more about him at toddfalcone.com.
Todd mentioned something during his speech that I literally sat up and took notice. He said that if you want to be successful in this industry than you need to recruit other professionals. People who are already successful salesmen but are hurting a little right now due to the economy. This one simple tip he shared was truly amazing.
The next time you drive through your neighborhood, look at all the for sale signs. Write the name and number of the realtor. Call them and say something like, “I was driving through the (whatever neighborhood) and saw your smiling face on a for sale sign. You look like someone who is very successful. I am in the process of expanding my business and was wondering if you would be interested in something outside of what you are currently doing?”
Realtors aren’t the only people hurting right now in today’s economy and because they have been so successful in their career, they are people who enjoy taking risks. Other professions to consider are mortgage brokers, insurance agents, financial planners, sales professionals, retail sales people and other network marketers. Can you see the potential?
I started learning how to do social media and PPC online in order to introduce your target audience to your opportunity but I’ve also learned that in order to be successful you need to do both online and offline activities. What better way than approaching other already successful professionals because they too know that you need multiple streams of income in order to succeed in this life. They are more open to new ventures and working the business than people who are insecure with themselves and scared to take risks.
Just something I thought I would share with you in case you never thought of this either. Maybe I’m not the only one out there who is still scratching their head thinking to themselves, why didn’t I think of that.
