Hope you have enjoyed my posts on the most common mistakes made by newcomers. Here is the last mistake I want to share with you.

Mistake #7
Trying This Business on For Size

What do you think the word try means? I will try something new or I will try this business. Try means that you will attempt to do something or accomplish it. If you decide to go and open up a McDonald’s restaurant and you go to the bank for a loan, do you think they will lend it to you if you tell them you are just going to try this for a couple of months to see if it works?

People who aren’t in this business for the right reasons will never succeed. Trying this or trying that is just another excuse that you will bail when it gets hard or you aren’t seeing the results that you had hoped.

Another area I see is that you need to join a mentor or team that will have the right tools available so that you can learn and grow. People aren’t responsible for doing the work for you. It’s up to you. That’s the same thing as getting an 8 to 5 job and expecting someone else to do the work for you. That’s just not going to happen.

The blame game usually comes into play a lot for people who only are willing to “try”. If this doesn’t work than it’s not my fault. You have to take 100% responsibility for your actions and what you did or did not do. A true entrepreneur will do whatever it takes in order to succeed even if they have been abandoned by their sponsor and left to fend for themselves. There is enough information available online for anyone to succeed. You have to have the will and desire to continue to move forward.

People always seem to come up with some type of excuse as to why they haven’t finished their project, put up a video, completed their website or started their marketing. Excuses are made by people who either aren’t serious enough about this business or afraid to take a chance.

I hope this information has been helpful. Always remember that everyone started out as a newcomer. You are not alone so just follow these steps of “what not to do” and you can be well on your way to building your own successful business.

I Believe In You!
